FAQ

What is tallow, and why use it on skin?

Tallow is rendered beef fat, one of the oldest skincare ingredients around. Its fatty acid profile is similar to our skin's own oils, which is why many people find it deeply moisturizing and easy to absorb. We whip ours for a light, creamy texture.

Does it smell like beef?

No. The tallow we use carefully rendered, so it has little to no scent. Some products include herbs or essential oils for a gentle natural fragrance.

What ingredients do you use?

As few as possible. Every product lists its full ingredients on its product page. No synthetic fragrances, dyes, or fillers.

How do I use whipped tallow?

A little goes a long way. Warm a small amount between your fingertips and massage into clean skin. It can be used on face, hands, and body.

What is the difference between your balms, salves, and whipped tallow?

Whipped tallow is light and fluffy for everyday moisturizing. Balms and salves are firmer, herb-infused, and made for targeted areas like dry patches, hands, or tired muscles.

How do I use the sugar scrubs?

On damp skin in the shower, gently massage a scoop in circular motions, then rinse. Use 1 to 3 times a week. Be careful, as oils can make shower floors slippery.

Should I patch test?

Yes. Natural ingredients can still cause sensitivities. Apply a small amount to your inner arm and wait 24 hours before regular use. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Are your products safe for kids?

Our products are made with simple ingredients, but please check each ingredient list and consult your pediatrician for babies and young children, especially for products containing essential oils.

How should I store my products, and how long do they last?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and use clean, dry hands. Because we use no synthetic preservatives, we recommend using products within 12 months of opening.

My product arrived soft or melted. Is it ruined?

Not at all. Tallow and balms soften in heat. Place it in a cool spot and it will firm back up with no change in quality.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are handmade and usually ship within a few business days. See our Shipping Policy for details.

Can I return a product?

For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on opened products. See our Refund Policy for details.

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes. This is available on Sundays or by appointment.
